So, you want to be an English Teacher in China?

You've heard the horror stories... maybe even been the subject of one of them!

English teaching in China doesn't have to be like that!

There are many schools that are desperately and urgently looking for professional, qualified, willing ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers to join their staff and make a much needed and much wanted contribution to their school.

There are also many English teachers who make it easy for the schools to shake their collective heads in dismay at the poor standards, questionable antics and unprofessional attitude which they display.

Our objective at the China Connexion is to ensure that our member teachers have a positive experience that ultimately delivers the best results to the students.

We provide a TEACHER EMPLOYMENT AGENT service.

This means we are working for YOU - not the school.

We believe that all the recruiters out there have got things backwards! With the huge number of teachers required each year in China and the small pool of qualified, professional teachers available, this is a "seller's market".

Here's how it works:

  1. Become a China Connexion Member
    • Submit your personal details
    • Provide some standard CV info
    • Tell us where, when and what you want to teach
    • Lifetime Membership Fee $99.00
  2. Your China Connexion advisor will contact you personally and discuss your situation/requirements and answer any questions you've got.
  3. The China Connexion starts looking for exactly the right position for you, dealing directly with the schools and employers.
    • We don't have a list of vacancies with schools - we search out the best position individually for each of our members, based on what you want.
    • Most schools will never have heard of us until we approach them to discuss the possibility of your employment.
    • We also have stringent criteria they must satisfy in order for consideration as a potential employer.
  4. Your China Connexion advisor will give you some "Employment Options" - with confirmed details about living & working conditions, salary & visas.
  5. Make your selection. Your advisor will coordinate all the paperwork and work closely with you to make sure you have everything you need to arrive safely, get situated and begin your new job.
  6. Your advisor is always directly available to you (you'll have their phone number, e-mail, Skype) so that whenever you need assistance it's fast and easy to get.
  7. If you have any difficulties with your employer or contract your advisor is available to negotiate with the employer as your agent.
    • You'll get good, sensible advise about your situation and you will not be facing it alone.
    • Your advisor has access to Chinese legal representation and a huge support network that will be working for you!
  8. In a "worst case" situation your advisor will coordinate getting you out of there and getting you set-up in a new job.
  9. You'll also have access to our:
    • member network,
    • forum,
    • special member offers & discounts,
    • member activity & travel groups,
    • FREE phone translator service
    • personal China Connexion e-mail address (yourname @ thechinaconnexion.com)
    • personal China Connexion blog space
  10. When you're ready for a new job contact your advisor and we'll do it all for you again! You're already a member, so there's no additional cost for you, ever.

"Who's the China Connexion?" I hear you thinking...

We are a group of western teachers who are working and living in China, so we are dealing from first-hand experience. We have built up a network that spans China. We have local Chinese staff that provide direct liaison with the employers in Chinese.
